What Remains When We Rise

What Remains When We Rise

$1,250.00

There is a time for staying and a time for moving on. In What Remains When We Rise, a flock of Canada Geese lifts above an old truck that has been left to weather quietly in the field. One is beginning a journey while the other has already reached the end of its own.

I wanted this painting to capture that sense of transition—the way nature continually moves forward while traces of what came before remain behind. The truck is slowly becoming part of the landscape, while the geese rise into an open sky. For me, there is something both beautiful and hopeful in that contrast.

The title asks the question at the heart of the painting: What remains when we rise? I think the answer can be different for everyone who sees it.

This is the original painting so there is only one. It’s painted in acrylic and oil on a 1-1/2” thick gallery wrapped canvas and the scene continues on the edges for a very finished look. No framing is needed, but if you like frames it can also be framed. The size of this piece is 24” x 30”.
