There’s something wonderfully cheerful about a busy bird feeder on a summer day. The color, activity and familiar backyard visitors make The Summer Feeder a celebration of one of the simple pleasures of bird watching—and a particularly fun piece for anyone who loves watching birds gather just outside the window.

This painting has a special place in my development as an Artist. In 2014, I painted the same feeder in summer, winter and fall as a study of how changing seasons and light transform a familiar scene. What began as an exercise became three great paintings and taught me lessons about light and color that still influence my work today.

The original has sold, but a limited edition of only 50 prints is available. Prints are approximately 7.5" × 9.5", presented in an 11" × 14" white mat with a certificate of authenticity and protective sleeve, ready to fit a standard 11" × 14" frame.
